BBQ Meet and Cruise
BBQ Meet and Cruise
With over 80 vehicles in attendance, there was something to tickle everyone’s fancy at the AE May BBQ and cruise.
The variety of vehicles was staggering and we had a great time making new friends, reconnecting with old ones and sharing the automotive passion. Combined with the bliss of enjoying our vehicles in convoy from various point to point locations in the Yarra Valley, this was an event to remember!
Cars and Coffee
Cars and Coffee
A meet in Southbank allowed for a fun and laid back experience. With YouTuber ‘ClayWong’ as the special guest, Clay took some video interviews of AE members and some great shots of the attending cars.
As the morning progressed, a large variety of cars were on offer with owners relaxing in the warm sun, making new friends, talking cars and most importantly, enjoying the much required morning coffee.
Arthur's Seat
Arthur's Seat
The sunny afternoon quickly turned to dusk during the meet at Albert Park Lake. As new members arrived with fascinating stories, unique cars and crazy modifications, the conversation and laughter provided a nourishing experience after the continuous lockdowns.
The convoy to Arthurs Seat was a highlight, with owners stretching the legs of their vehicles (within the limits of the law) and challenging the hairpins up Arthurs Seat Mountain. The convoy stopped for the view and some chit chat but headed back down the mountain to the next point, Mornington Pier.
End of lockdown
End of lockdown
The day lockdown ended, we knew a cruise was required. After so many months of being cooped up at home, the drive in Reefton was for many of us, a mental cleanse.
Reconnecting with people and reconnecting with our cars was the goal. It was the laughter, the comradery and the mental bliss flowing through the countless twists and turns that made it a day to relish!
Lake Mountain
Lake Mountain
There's nothing like breathing crisp air whilst overlooking mountain ranges, which is where we found ourselves at the top of Lake Mountain.
Twenty cars, a bunch of laughs and a barbeque in the snow made for quite the day!
